One time I used the phrase "manifest destiny" in a radio spot. It was for Cingular. It was the same recording where I had to cast for Andrew Jackson. NYC on the company dime. That was a good weekend.

I'm sore from too much Wii boxing. It feels like a fantastic workout.

Thursday, March 22, 2007

Someone over on my livejournal f-list (locked post, otherwise I would link) started a list of "things we like", for instance- here are some things I like:
-swimming pools
-wood-paneled rec rooms
-break dance battles
-getting really pumped about things instead of being "over" things
-hotel room sleep
-the west wing on dvd, for inexplicable reasons, and the fact that it's inexplicable

Anyways, the real point here is that someone mentioned that they like "ponies, specifically groups of wild ponies, that when photographed, pose like rock bands":

And I think that's my favorite thing today. So far, I mean.

I'm bored, so here's a movie questionnaire.

1. Name a movie you have seen more than 10 times.
Breakfast at Tiffany's

2. Name a movie you've seen multiple times in the theater.
I think I saw Amelie twice.

3. Name an actor who would make you more inclined to see a movie.
Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman

4. Name an actor who would make you less likely to see a movie.
Dane Cook

5.Name a movie you can and do quote from.
The Royal Tenenbaums

6. Name a movie musical in which you know all of the lyrics to all of the songs.
A Hard Day's Night. And Funny Face, probably.

7. Name a movie you have been known to sing along with.
I don't know if I've been "known" to sing along to any one in particular. I think I once did some dance fighting in Carrie's living room when West Side Story was on in the background.

8. Name a movie you would recommend everyone see.
Schitzopolis

9. Name a movie you own.
Annie Hall

10. Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops.
David Bowie. But he can pretty much stand still and impress me.

11. Have you ever seen a movie in a drive-in?
the most memorable one being the "Death Race 2000" and "Rock N Roll High School" double feature.

12. Ever made out in a movie?
In high school, perhaps. I'm not really into PDA.

13. Name a movie you keep meaning to see but you just haven't gotten around to yet.
Godfather Part Three

14. Ever walked out of a movie?
The first Mission Impossible.

15. Name a movie that made you cry in the theater.
Ugh, Garden State. And I pretty much hate myself for it.

16. Popcorn?
in small doses, I have dental work.

17. How often do you go to the movies (as opposed to renting them or watching them at home)
not as often as I should. I abuse Netflix.

18. What's the last movie you saw in the theater?
Pan's Labyrinth

19. What's your favorite/preferred genre of movie?
talkies

20. What's the first movie you remember seeing in the theater?
Peter Pan

21. What movie do you wish you had never seen?
oh god, Pay It Forward. either that or the Paris Hilton sex tape. does that count as a movie?

22. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
Cremaster Two and the last hour of Cremaster Three

23. What is the scariest movie you've seen?
The Exorcist.

24. What is the funniest movie you've seen?
Intentionally? I loved The Holy Grail for years and years.
Unintentionally? Drawing Restraint Four

They washed the insides of my car and now the dashboard smells of hospital. I've spilled pen all over the front of this dress. I wish I were in Havana.

Have you guys seen this? Let Us Frolic In My Totally Dope Blanket Fort. I dunno, maybe you've seen it. Maybe everyone's seen it.

In other "best of today", earlier I called myself my own personal press secretary. I'm so meta, you have no idea.

I just thought I'd share my new desktop image with everyone:

oh, it's already looking a little busy, i may have to change it. speaking of television, I highly recommend "search for the new pussycat doll". it's fucking hilarious. these girls take it so srsly. "this is my dream! to whore it up onstage! the dolls represent girl power!"

um, actually they represent the exact opposite of girl power. but don't tell the contestants that, otherwise the show wouldn't be half as funny.

So today is boring, again, it's boring again. So I bought some pants. I bought some ninety-six dollar pants with a hundred dollar gift card, they were five dollar pants. They are wide legged, sailor and summery, I want to abolish the skinny pant movement, I think it's day has passed. Let's usher in the day of the wide pant. You might be asking yourself why I don't write freelance-like for vogue, what with sentence choices like "day of the wide pant", well that's a good question. Hey vogue, I'll be waiting by the phone.

did i just write a paragraph about pants? i think i just did.

I just watched "The Last Temptation of Christ" (all eighteen hours of it) and yeah it was good, but the whole time I was thinking what is this cheesy Peter Gabriel like yoga background music horribly dating the film?

oh, right, it was Peter Gabriel.

ps. if you watch the extras you get to hear Scrosese say "there's John the Baptist in street clothes".

Today is going intolerably slow. I downloaded some eps of 30 Rock. I ate a vegetarian venecian benedict.

My hometown just kinda got destroyed by a tornado. Turn on CNN. Enterprise, Alabama? Yeah, that's my hometown. My family's ok, but still. Surreal shit.
